Good luck to our riders racing the UCI Gravel World Series on the UCI approved HUP evo gravel bike!
As with all competition, it’s driven by performance, so weight, handling and grip are prioritised. Often you will see lightweight carbon wheels (even deep-dish aero) and lightweight race tyres (not too wide, to minimise rolling resistance) and high-spec group sets on gravel race bikes. The HUP evo is the perfect gravel racing weapon.
The UCI Gravel World Series is the top-tier gravel race series globally, so we are really pleased to have some serious talent on our HUP evo gravel race bikes. Good luck to Paul o'Brien and Paul Newnham of Team HUP and Tasha Reddy of Team Empella! Have a blast guys!
When we designed the HUP evo, dual-purpose was the brief. Once the CX season was over (with a change of tyres) it could be converted to a gravel racer easily. But like CX racing, weight matters on gravel races too and the HUP evo leads the weight race, no sweat.
With progressive geo, triple-butted tubing and full carbon forks, bikes featured on this page weigh between 7.7kg and 8.4kg. No raceday panics over damaged cables/headset either, just traditional internal cabling, serviced in seconds - no cables through headsets!
Handbuilt HUP carbon wheels on 40c gravel race tyres for the perfect balance of weight, grip and handling, designed to win in any raceday conditions running the latest Vittoria tyre inserts.
Bikepacking with the HUP evo
But it's not all racing, we love a gravel adventure build too for comfort, reliability, luggage capacity and overall simplicity. Often running Aluminium wheels and wider tyres, wide range groupsets, cable brakes and additional luggage on bikepacking bikes, but as with all HUP bikes, you can build how you want, so carbon wheels are also available.
Why limit yourself to the road, when you can venture down trails too? A change of tyres is all you need for your first gravel adventure on the HUP evo, add frame bags to go bike packing. Holidays on your evo!
Alterntively, for even more long-distance comfort you can use the HUP xc MTB frame as a basis for really big adventures, so you can enjoy the comforts of up to 2.4" tyres, front suspension forks and dropper seat posts. They literally go anywhere and ride like a limo. Beasts!
