Assembly - Bike Purchases:
All our built bikes are fully built and correctly PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection to BS EN ISO 8098 & 4210-2) checked. You will need to fit/align the handlebars & front wheel plus fit the pedals yourself, once you have removed the bike from its box (we suggest you keep the box). If you are not able to do this, your local bike shop will be happy to assist for a small charge, however the vast majority of people are perfectly capable of completing this task. If in doubt, always get it checked by a Cytech qualified bike mechanic. Larger bikes may require the rear wheel to be refitted too.
Assembly - Self-Build Bundle, Wheelset, Frameset & Component Purchases:
Only attempt to build a bike if you have the mechanical competence and experience to do so safely. If not, seek the assistance of a qualified bike mechanic, your local bike shop or experienced cycling club coach. Only standard bike tools required: Allen keys, cable cutters, screw drivers, small spanners, chain tool, saw/pipe guide, cassette socket, SQT bb tool, tyre levers and pump. Some frame preparation tools may sometimes be required. We do not provide any form of build guidance or advice (including via email or telephone).
Only attempt to fit components if you are mechanically competent and experienced. If not, contact a qualified and experienced bike mechanic to fit your parts. Do not presume, stop if you are in any doubt or do not have the experience/knowledge. Always use a torque wrench, which has been recently serviced and calibrated. Ensure you assemble using the correct grade grease and/or thread lock, for the particular component you are fitting, to ensure correct functionality and service life. Once fitted, regular checking, adjustment or servicing is required to maintain your component or bike (including the frameset) ideally after every ride. If you suspect fault with a component, you must contact us immediately. Do not continue to fit or use under any circumstances. You are responsible.
Cancellations
B2C Orders may be cancelled at any time before they are prepared by our team, simply contact us for a full refund. If the item has already been despatched then please see our returns policy above. Under Consumer Contracts Regulations you have a right to cancel your order in writing (except for customised products) fourteen working days beginning with the day after the day on which the consumer receives the goods. Faulty Items/Warranty Returns
All goods supplied by HUPcc are from official sources and are covered by our standard 12 month warranty, from date of receipt, for the original purchaser. If an item has failed prematurely you should first contact us to be advised on the next steps to take. Certain products need to be returned to our suppliers for inspection and possible repair before a credit can be issued. If you suspect an item is faulty you must let us know as soon as the fault becomes noticeable to yourself and you must not continue to use the item. For Electronic/Electrical items, you must first go through the relevant manufacturers online support procedure before contacting us if you believe the item to be faulty.
Due to health and safety regulations, for faulty clothing items we request items are washed prior to returning back to us. Once we receive the goods they will be inspected and we will contact you to inform you of how to proceed.
Who pays the postage cost for returns/warranty items?
If an item is being returned to us because it is the wrong size/colour or just unwanted, you are responsible for the return postage costs. We advise you ensure items are returned with adequate insurance up to the total value of item/items being returned, in case the parcel is lost or damaged in transit. If you do not use a postage service with adequate insurance for returned goods you will not receive a refund if items are lost or damaged. Items remain your responsibility until they are received by HUPcc.
For items that have been delivered faulty or develop a fault within the manufacturer’s warranty, your return postage costs will be refunded by HUPcc up to £35 for Bikes and up to £10 for other items. If the return postage is over these limits, please contact us first and we will advise you on the next steps to take. If items returned to us are deemed not to be covered by their manufacturer’s warranty then you will not receive a refund for the postage costs.
All overseas (non-UK) orders: you are liable for your local customs duties and taxes should you need to return your items for any reason. All overseas (non-UK orders): you must capture complete images of your original packaging on arrival, in the case that transit damage has been inflicted on your delivery and send those to us within 7 days as a claim must be made against the courier responsible.
RETURNS ON CUSTOM BUILT/SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS
Custom items of clothing, bikes, self-build bundles, wheelsets, parts or framesets are exempt from returns, as these have been created specifically for your use and the manufacturers do not accept returns on custom clothing, bikes, self-build bundles, wheelsets, parts or framesets unless faulty. Specially ordered, non-stock products brought in especially for your requirements are also exempt from refund, unless faulty. If the product is faulty, you may still return in the usual way for inspection by the manufacturer for rectification or refund. Simply changing your mind on colours for instance (once the item has been commissioned to your specification) sadly cannot be refunded. You must accept that hand-finished and painted framesets can contain minor flaws or imperfections, as all hand-finished items do. You are strongly advised to fit frame protection tape and rim protection inserts to avoid damage, especially in harsh and erosive cyclocross, gravel and MTB conditions. Faults through manufacturing errors or manufacturing damage are however covered by our returns policy.
