Is the HUP evo SL a CX bike, or a Road bike? It’s both! Here's how...
Cyclo-cross has always been a Road discipline, but they historically had two key differences between the two bikes. CX bikes had a slightly higher bottom bracket (to avoid pedal strike on uneven ground) and larger tyre clearances to deal with mud. But times change and the two designs have converged;
1. The world has woken-up to the benefits of shorter cranks (a drum we've banged for over a decade!) so we can lower the bottom bracket for CX, lowering the riders centre of gravity and improving handling.
2. Advances in road tyre design, mean wider road tyres and their potential to lower rolling resistance and increase comfort. So new road bike tyre clearances are now regulary the same required for CX racing.
So whether it's a Spring Classic on the latest generation of larger road tyres (on the UCI 39c limit) or a full-blown Cyclocross World Cup - it's all good with the new, UCI approved HUP evo SL.

HUP evo SL frames start at 37cm for riders approx 130cm tall upwards and now includes a 40cm size (the smallest UCI approved frame?) plus 44cm and 48cm. The SL uses a slightly longer top-tube to the Aluminium evo, increasing longevity for growing kids, plus making it perfect for short adult riders. An addtional benefit of this, is to also make the frame perfect for road racing. A genuinely lightweight, all-year round bike the industry is determined to make you think is not possible, yet it most definately is.
